ICARUS Survival Experience

Prospect on a hostile terraformed planet where food, drinking water, oxygen, and body temperature determine how long you can stay in the wilderness. Predators, toxic air, storms, and forest fires make preparation as important as equipment progression.

Survival Loop and Progression

Build shelters and workstations, hunt, farm, mine, and develop technology, talents, and orbital equipment. Persistent Open World play supports narrative Operations, while timed Missions offer separate expeditions with their own objectives. Creative Outposts provide safer construction spaces. Expansion worlds and content packs are separate purchases on PC rather than automatic parts of the standard base game.

Modes and Availability

Available as a paid game on Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. PC supports solo and online co-op, while ICARUS: Console Edition supports up to four players in total and explicitly does not support cross-play. The console base edition includes New Frontiers, so its package differs from the standard PC purchase. The linked video is the original 2021 PC launch trailer, before later Open World additions.
