Minecraft Survival Experience

Gather materials and turn a generated wilderness into a dependable home, with food, equipment, and shelter supporting survival. This experience is distinct from Creative construction and minigame servers, while villages and trading can complement remote living.

Survival Loop and Progression

Mine, farm, hunt, cook, and construct bases or outposts before exploring caves and other dimensions. Hunger depends on difficulty: Peaceful removes depletion, Easy and Normal limit starvation damage, and Hard can allow starvation death. No personal temperature, thirst, or mandatory fatigue system is added simply because the landscape includes snow or the character can sleep.

Modes and Availability

Available as a paid game on Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. Java runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux; Bedrock covers Windows and consoles. Java and Bedrock do not natively cross-play, while Bedrock players can join across supported platforms. Both offer solo and online play; console Bedrock also supports local split-screen for up to four players. Standard Survival permits respawn and item recovery, while Hardcore ends the character’s run at death. World and server settings can change item retention.

Death & Recovery
Standard Survival normally drops carried items at death and allows respawn at a valid set spawn point or world spawn. Dropped items can be recovered before they despawn. Hardcore does not allow the character to respawn. Keep-inventory rules and server settings can change the standard item-loss behavior.
