No Man’s Sky Survival Experience

Explore distant planets while maintaining life support and hazard protection against cold, heat, toxic conditions, and hostile life. Planetary survival is part of a much broader space sandbox involving trade, combat, discovery, and narrative exploration.

Survival Loop and Progression

Gather materials, repair and upgrade equipment, build planetary bases, and establish a traveling home aboard a freighter. Freighter rooms support storage, refining, crop cultivation, cooking, and long-distance travel, making the ship a functional mobile base. Normal, Relaxed, Survival, Creative, and custom settings change resource use, environmental pressure, combat, and technology damage. Death consequences can range from no penalty to permadeath.

Modes and Availability

Available as a paid game on Windows, macOS, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and the enhanced Switch 2 edition support online multiplayer and cross-play; the original Switch version is single-player.
